27th September 2017 - Tims Tribute Build.

Evening everyone.

CBRTIM Tribute Bike Build in Remembrance of our Eldest Son Timothy James Osborn.

We are back with Maz in here workshop.

Right Side front engine mount is tacked in place...

Marking up the new frame rail, as we get ready to remove this original part of the frame....

We will be using the hydraulic jack to take the strain of the engine

and to hold it square........

Maz'double checking everything, to make sure CBRTIM sits level and square........

We are now lining up everything for the rear of the engine mounts........

Cutting the next frame box section........

Maz's fire sparks show! (Free entry)........

Maz is busy cutting away chucks of the old frame.........

More chucks are being cut away of the old frame.........

Will soon be able to pull away a chunk of the old frame.........

It is Spot Maz Time, as the frame dwarfs her!.........

And finally out comes a small chunk of the original frame!.........

And out comes another small chunk of the original frame!.........

Gradually the original frame is being hacked away!.........

And finally out comes this large chunk of the original frame!.........

A sizable chunk of the original frame!.........

Now we have some space, to work in!.........

Now we can measure up the right side swing arm mount box section!.........

Now that is a good fit, just enough metal left to mols the square box section so that it sits flush with the top round frame tube!.........

We have the frame clamped to the jig (yes it is an exhaust clamp!).........

We move round to the front of CBRTIM.........

We take to box swing arm bolt section of the frame to the pillar drill and line everything up.........

and we set the drill on its way, with a pilot drill bit to start the hole for the swing arm.........

Next is to get the drill cutter out and after chacking to make sure we have the right size, we start the cutting.........

Using some cooling fluid to keep everything from getting to hot!.........

Now to clean the box section up, so it is ready for the next job!.........

And the bolt sleeve slide snugly into the box section!.........

It is time to call it a night, as its gone 1am! and I still need to find a place to sleep overnight in the transit.

Luckily I know of a free place to park up not to far away
So after a brief discussion about the next stage on the build we all head home to our beds!.........

All in all another good day.

Progress is maybe not as quick as I would like, but one of the important jobs, I have given Maz, is to slow me down and make sure we get it right the 1st time!
Maz is probably the only friend I have who could do this important job and get away with how she chooses to do it!!
