22nd December 2017 - Tims Tribute Build.

Evening everyone.

CBRTIM Tribute Bike Build in Remembrance of our Eldest Son Timothy James Osborn.

Today my main focus is on CBRTIM.
Progress is slow at the moment, As I am unable to do any bending or lifting.
but I am not fussed about it, As long as I feel calm and am enjoying what I am doing that's all that matters.....

Back to the right front brake caliper mount,
Its still basically a large rectangle of 6mm steel, with me working on one end, as still nothing comes to mind for the shape of the plate yet.
Both Maz n Me are working on this now.............

More double checking and grinding edges away....

A little bit at a time.....

And slowly but surely......

A few spot welds and I can remove the mole grips, everything looks good......

The plate is getting....

To were I want it.....

But Still not 100% just yet......

Double checking the curves with the original caliper mount.......

And punched the punch holes, for where I want to drill the holes.......

And soon got them drilled out!

OOOPS that middle hole shouldn't be there!.......

It should be further round.

(Ah well, It will no go to waste, This will now become a template!).......

and after dressing the edges.......

I start to bolt the caliper mount to the plate.......

Not quiet 100% in places!!.......

And some areas need trimming back!!.......

But its looking good so far.......

I slide the caliper onto the mounts and altho this pin and rubber works as it should, I will need to shave a few mill of so rubber don't touch the caliper mount and possibly tear it it pieces when used........

so for this end.......

I have offered the hole lot up, But it wouldn't go together properly, So I took it all apart and try'd to put it all back together and this hole don't line up.........

But I still got the spindle spacer hole to cut yet, So I am hoping it will then drop down and fit perfectly.
But gotta wait for my xmas pressie from Michael for that to happen.......

All in all another good day.

I have got a lot done for the front brakes, ok I made a big mistake on the 1st brake mount plate, but I brought 4, So that one will just be used as a template!...................
