CBRTIM - 16th January 2023 - CBRTIM Tribute Build Album.

Hi Folks.

It has been way too long since I have done anything on CBRTIM build but with my mental health and the issues caused, from the last visits to work on Tim.

Things just spiralled out of control.

I am hoping today if only for 30 mins or so, that I can be able to re-start getting Tim past the finishing post this year.

Unfortunately, the money I had put aside to cover paintwork, has all been spent on the transit conversion, so raising funds will have to start all over gain, but I still have to complete Tim's final dry build to make sure it will all go together once all the paint work has been sorted..

After day's of saying I hope to get down the workshop, today I finally managed to do just that, for a few hours....

I am not expecting much today, or probably for the next week or so, as I have to sit n talk to Tim and find out where we got to and what the issues are.

To make matters worse for me I have no memory of working on CBRTIM since he came home again,

But I have pics and some text to say that that I had been working on him,

altho not for far too long.

So please accept my apologies if not much gets done,

I have a lot to catch up on and try and take in and understand,

and I can only dedicate about an 1 hour or so some days for now.

I hope in time that will increase, but only time will tell...

Tim's Petrol Tank remains covered up, to protect it for now....

The seat I have to remove, as I need to get to the radiator and need the light and access that I will have with it removed......

This is the right side swing arm bolt spacer.

It needs about 1mm taking from the edge.
I need to find someone local who has a lathe, so it can be done properly.

At the moment, with the welding that Kev did for the foot boards, we can no longer spring the frame out a little bit to slide the swing arm into place.

The bearing feels very lumpy, so I will pull it out soon and get a new bearing and seal. to be installed after the swing arm has been blasted and sprayed.......

Now the left side spacer for some unknown reason, does not want to come out!
And it takes me over an hour to persuade it gently that it does want to leave the swing arm.

Again this side also needs about 1mm taking from the edge.

I need to find someone local who has a lathe, so it can be done properly.

Whilst i have been talking to Maz this afternoon, she has found the part numbers for me..
( A huge thanks darlin and if possible we will get to see ya this year and go to our fav carvery )

bearings AD1009 £9.72 each,

seals AB1133 £4.33 (L)

AD7005 £2.03 (R)

plus post

Both bearings feels very lumpy, so I will pull it out after the dry build.
And get a new bearing and seal. to be installed after the swing arm has been blasted and sprayed....

Seat mounting plates for the seat to rest on..

And they are not completely welded.....

Seat brace and mount for bolting the seat to the frame..

Again not fully welded!!!.....

More welds that are supposed to have been done according to him!!!

So I am gonna stop the dry build as it is a total waist of time!!..

I cannot trust a work he has told me about work being done..

So I will order the bearings and seals (when I have the funds)!!.....

I need to find someone locally who can sort and finish these welds properly. Then get the swing arm blasted and then sprayed and I will fit the bearings n seals on final build.!

So I am gonna stop the dry build as it is a total waist of time!!..

When I get chance I will have a real good tidy up in the workshop and possibly build some more shelving and put everything for Tim on them...

Then I will strip Tim back down to the frame and go over it with a fine tooth comb.

So I am gonna stop the dry build as it is a total waist of time!!..

Marking any issues and then get them sand blasted and finally get the frame sprayed.

I will have to do just what I did not expect to have to do, when you pay someone a lot o bloody money,

Only to find he has either created further problems or unfinished jobs, mainly because he refused to ask or listen to what we wanted and how we wanted it done!!...

Which would have meant we would not have the extra expense and time it is now gonna take to get Tim on the road.

We were gonna have it at NABD NATIONAL this year, but that is now out of the window, in fact I think so far he has put me back at least 2 years !!

All I can say is I am glad that I sit n chill out with Tim and have spotted these things, just how bad is the rest of the work....

I am coming to the conclusion the he could have killed Lynne n Me if I had not spotted these needless cockups.

I did not trust many people in the biking industry as it was and he has totally destroyed all tha hard work Maz has done to restore my faith!!!.
