Workshop Update - 13th February 2014.

Hi me...One minute I was still in my peaceful zone, That I have been in for last few days,

then all of a sudden everything hit me and dragged me deep in the shit...........

Luckily I re-found message from Ruff Daddy to me (will be added on this website soon!) and it made me chuckle out loud.

Altho It didn't make things better, It gave me a glimmer of hope.

So today down the workshop, gonna be painting the shelve Strawbs n me built yesterday.
Shelf underside gets a coat of paint.

We have put the heater close to were we are painting, not because it is particually cold, but to help speed up drying the paint.

We are both down to T-shirts ! It is like a sauna in here!!

This shelf was next to be paint.

The heater is drying the paint in about 10mins, so all the shelves get another coat.

Meanwhile we are using off cuts of the fireproof insulation to continue to insulate the roof. .

We have so many off cuts, it seems a shame to cut up a new sheet if insulation!

We carry on using the off cuts, whilst insulating this small section roof..

using the two off cuts sheets of 25mm thick polystyrene is measured and cut and to pursuade it wants to be fitted between the roof beams..

up goes a large off cut of lining sheet at the ceiling above the workbench..

more off cuts used for this the insulation of the ceiling above the workbench..

so I have a hunt round the workshop and come across this old bit of 2x2-its soon cut to size and screwed in place..

before I use the last 3 sheets of insulation that is stored in the other shed..

This plastic lining sheet, is cut n slid under the exiting beams..

Nearly done Insulating this side of the workshop..

Right Ceiling is all insulated now!..

And we still have some off cuts of polystyrene insulation!..

I am fed up with looking at this, plus it is in my way for the next job!..

And 30 mins later, it looks so much better!..

I try to put up this roof panel, up myself but give up n phone Timothy Osborn and ask him for a hand.
It is much easier when there are two of ya! and 15 mins later this board is screwed in place..

And this panel gets its first coat of paint.

whilst the paint is drying I mark up were the cross batons will be fitted and screw into place.

The Bench Storage framework gets a coat of paint.

The Storage Shelf dividers are given a coat of paint.

The Storage frame gets a 2nd coat of paint.

In goes the bottom shelf and screwed in and the top is given a final coat of paint.

This roof lining panel gets its 2nd coat of paint.

In goes the next shelf and divider and screwed in and painted.

On goes the top shelf and after being screwed in place, is painted.

I have given this unit a final coat of paint, aAnd finally the workbench storage unit is all done, Just gotta wait for the paint to dry!.

Bits that were here now on workbench, waiting to be sorted or in the bin.

I find some electric cable trunking whilst sorting thru the pile of stuff in the previous picture.
And I cut it to fit, for the storage unit mains sockets.

I turned the light off as its too bright for the camera-but looks loads brighter now.

I had to hunt around for these brackets as I thought I had used them all yesterday.

Time to start wire up the mains sockets to the storage unit!
5 screws later and the mains socket back is not going anywhere.

all the wires are connected, including the back plate earth.

and the left side soon follows with cable.

All the wires are now connected.
The thin wire is from an off cut of mains lead from non working disco lead!-.

And it is all screwed up.
I can't test it yet as it is not connected to the mains socket board yet!!.

The sockets are now all screwed in place!.

Found more storage 3boxes, whilst having a tidy up of stuff stored on the floor!.
They have stuff in them, that is to be sorted at some stage!.

Gay Gordon was moaning at me, for some abuse!,
So I abused him sucking up the rubbish on the workbench!!.

The Pillar Drill is in its new home.
Now plugged into the new socket, But I think I prefure the cable going thru the bench to a socket underneath!.
But that is for another day, as I want the pillar drill to remain movable, to aid in using awkward sizes!

This tool box will be used for "the top tray for pillar drill tools-The bottom drawers for lathe tools.

Pic of the storage unit and drill/lathe tools together.

Rubbish bag sits nicely on top of the off cuts bin, Till it is full and then I can take up to the house for the dustman to take.

I am getting very tired now and unstable on my legs, so after a rest it is time to do something with the floor.

I have sort of let the floor go over the last week or so, mainly because of being over tired and not feeling to well!.

Burnable rubbish and suitable wood for kindling, for Jan Horton, when she next comes to visit!.

Finally space is appearing as I sort thru stuff here and put it away or stack neatly out of my way for now!!.

This area starting to look a lot better!.

That is even better-the wood n bits that were beside the gas fire now in another temp home.
But just enough space to slide the wood off cuts bin in there!.

Which means a little bit more space created, that needs cleaning.

Gay Gordon after some welcome abuse.

Gay Gordon has had enough abuse, and I notice that there is even more space at this end of the workshop.

Time to call it a day it has been a long day, but loads achieved and I am well happy.

I am less happy with my stability and the tiredness in my head, so a good wash n then early night and hopefully tomorrow, will be good enough to get back down the workshop and get more done!.
